Alert Details

Low black cutworm migration risks return to the forecast next Monday night into Tuesday ahead of a low pressure system and cold front expected to move from northwest to southeast across the corn-growing region. A period of southerly to southwesterly winds ahead of the front, likely beginning on Monday and lasting into Tuesday ahead of the front, may bring some isolated black cutworm migration risks into Kansas, eastern Nebraska, Iowa, far southern Minnesota, southern Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, southwest lower Michigan, far western Ohio, and western Kentucky at that time. At this point, it appears the risk duration is focused on Monday night as once the cold front passes, northwest flow is likely to remain in control.
