Alert Details

As a cold front moves slowly east today into tomorrow, any black cutworm migration chances will focus mainly across the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing region in comparatively weaker southerly flow. Low risks are predicted mainly east of the I-57 corridor in eastern Illinois, including far eastern Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and into extreme southern Ontario, Canada. Little, if any, additional black cutworm migration risks are predicted into early next week, but growers are still encouraged to check traps and document any significant flights as while there is no threat to crops or fields at this time, new generations from any migrating moths now may show up once crops emerge later this spring.
