Alert Details

A cold front will be moving through the eastern half of the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. Preceding the front, south to southwest winds may lead to some isolated moth flights especially east of the I-57 corridor from southeast Missouri and eastern Illinois to points east tonight into tomorrow morning. Fields in these states as well as Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, southern lower Michigan, and southern Ontario, Canada are all included in the risk area. Little, if any, additional migration risk is predicted for the rest of the week as the weather pattern is expected to be unfavorable. Growers should continue to monitor traps and heat unit accumulations, however, as additional corn will be emerging and could be at risk if new larvae from previous flights are present.
