Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted beginning tomorrow night and continuing into next week as south to southwest winds increase and spread east ahead of a developing low pressure system and attendant cold front in the western Plains states. Low risks are initially found across the Plains states and western corn-growing region mainly west of US 65 tomorrow night into Sunday, with the risk area eventually expanding east to Lake Michigan and into the I-55 corridor into Illinois. Field corn is not at a susceptible stage to damage as of yet in the majority of the corn-growing region, but fresh market and garden growers with vegetables should scout those fields/plots as some corn earworm moths have been captured in the past week or so in some areas in the corn-growing region.
