Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted mainly across the Plains states tonight into tomorrow but there could also be some flights into western Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri, as well. Southerly winds are expected to return and increase in this region but high pressure further east will limit flights to the far western corn-growing region. Low risks do expand east to near the Mississippi River tomorrow night into Thursday, and then as far east as Lake Michigan and into Illinois by late week and into the weekend. A cold front is likely to impact many areas at some point this weekend or early next week, and may result in a better chance for migration ahead of what may be a rather cool air mass next week, but uncertainties in timing/placement preclude a higher risk at this time.
