Alert Details

Little to no corn earworm migration risk is predicted until we get into next week, specifically the Monday night into Tuesday time period when the next low pressure system and cold front begin moving east across at least the northern corn-growing region. A corridor of fairly gusty south to southwest winds is anticipated especially across eastern South Dakota, far eastern North Dakota, Minnesota, northern Iowa, and western Wisconsin where a Low migration risk has been introduced to the forecast. This should be a quick-moving system, with the parent low pressure and attendant cold front likely moving into the Great Lakes region and southern Canada already by mid-week. Nonetheless, the system could provide a chance for some isolated moth flights into remaining fresh market and processing fields in the northern areas early next week.
