Alert Details

As low pressure and an attendant cold front develop in southern Canada and the High Plains region by this weekend, southerly wind flow to the east may allow for some isolated moth flights into portions of the northern corn-growing region especially west of Lake Michigan. The primary window of concern is Saturday night into Sunday across northeast Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Iowa, and far northwest Illinois. Processing and fresh market growers should continue to monitor traps and scout fields until either the crop is no longer susceptible to corn earworm damage or is harvested.
