Alert Details

A cold front is expected to push southeast through much of the northern and central corn-growing region by late week. Weak south to southwest winds ahead of this front may allow for some isolated corn earworm moth flights mainly from source regions in western Texas and Oklahoma tonight into tomorrow across the Plains states. The Low risk area shifts further east tomorrow night into Thursday, and is as far east as Wisconsin and Illinois by that time. Some isolated corn earworm flights have been observed in the past several weeks, so growers with crops at susceptible stages to damage should continue trapping and scouting efforts. Little to no migration risk is predicted by the weekend with northwest flow dominant once again.
