Alert Details

As a new low pressure system slowly advances east into the Plains states later this week, corn earworm migration possibilities will return but only in a limited fashion. Less than optimal wind speeds combined with expected precipitation serving as a limiting factor for migration from the source region into the Corn Belt and overall low reported counts in the source region leads to just a Low risk of migration. The risk initially begins later Wednesday into Thursday morning from northern Oklahoma into southern Nebraska and then expands east into Iowa and Missouri by Thursday night, and as far east as Indiana and western Kentucky by this weekend.
