Alert Details

Corn earworm migration risks will return to the corn-growing region by Saturday night and continue into early next week as the next weather system moves rather quickly through the central and eastern United States. Some south to southwest winds will be common in advance of the front and may pose an isolated corn earworm flight risk initially across portions of Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota tomorrow night into Sunday. The risk area expands east early next week as the front moves east and is present mainly west of a Columbia, Missouri to Green Bay, Wisconsin by Sunday night and then east of this line into the Great Lakes region and eastern Midwest on Monday night. Once this system passes, north to northwest winds are expected to dominate so no risk is predicted thereafter.
