Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted for portions of the corn-growing region especially in the Day 3-5 (Saturday, June 8 through Tuesday, June 11) time period as the weather pattern becomes more active and southerly winds increase. Low risks are in place from eastern Kansas and Missouri northeast into Iowa, southeast Minnesota, southern Wisconsin, southwest Michigan, Illinois, and western Indiana Saturday night into Sunday as a quick-moving but potent cold front moves across the Midwest. A short window of focused south to southwest winds may allow isolated moth flights to occur in the Low risk area. By the end of the five day period, southerly winds returning across the Plains states may result in isolated moth flights especially in Kansas and Nebraska early-mid next week.
