Alert Details

Corn earworm migration risks are predicted to remain rather low the next five days and mainly confined to the Plains and western corn-growing region as high pressure builds in over the Midwest. With a lack of a strong pressure gradient, calm or light southerly winds are expected to dominate the weather across the central United States as the heat and humidity expands north. Weak southerly winds will be common especially from Kansas north into Nebraska and South Dakota through the period where Low insect migration risks are in place. Low risks also extend east and northeast into Minnesota, far western Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota but widespread flights are unlikely to occur in the next five days.
