Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks are in the forecast beginning tomorrow night and continuing into midday Saturday as a cold front moves somewhat slowly to the southeast through the corn-growing region. Weak to moderate south to southwest flow may result in some short distance moth flights from source regions in the southern Plains north into Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa as well as western Missouri tomorrow night into Friday morning, and then potentially as far north as southern Minnesota and western Illinois Friday night into Saturday morning. With the overall weather pattern in a dominant northwest flow, any larger scale flights are unlikely but some isolated moth flights may still occur in these areas.
