Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks are in the forecast next weekend and into early next week as south to southwest winds are expected to return to primarily fields along and west of I-35. Hurricane Irma is projected to track up or just off the east coast of the United States, and as it does so, it will temporarily block any weather systems from pushing east. That being said, the migration risk should remain in place from far northern Kansas and northwest Missouri north into the eastern Dakotas and Minnesota for both Saturday night into Sunday and again Sunday night into Monday morning. Fresh market and processing growers should continue to check traps and scout fields as long as fresh silks and any other crops are at susceptible stages to damage.
