Alert Details

Another strong low pressure system is expected to develop across the Plains states late this week into next weekend. High pressure over the corn-growing region is expected to move east by that time, allowing southerly wind flow to return to especially the Plains states but eventually expanding east with time. Even though crops are not at a susceptible stage to damage at this point, Low corn earworm migration risks are in the forecast both Thursday and Friday nights across Kansas, Nebraska, southwest Iowa, and western Missouri given the expected favorable weather pattern for migration by that time. A few isolated moth flights could occur from source regions in Texas both nights.
