Alert Details

Remnants of Tropical Storm Lee will continue to advance slowly northeast through the Appalachian Mountains before actually moving northwest into the eastern Midwest by the end of the week. The result will be persistent calm or northeast winds across much of the corn-growing region into the weekend. While some very isolated occurrences of north to south migration may occur (especially from Minnesota and Wisconsin south to near the I-80 corridor from Nebraska east through Iowa and Illinois), crops in this area are largely mature with harvest underway in some areas so no migration risk is predicted through the next five days.
