Alert Details

A cold front is expected to move southeast through the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing region over the next 24-48 hours. As it does so, additional precipitation is likely near and ahead of the front. With at least modest southerly winds continuing to its southeast, the risk is there for a few isolated moth flights to occur especially in far eastern Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and southern lower Michigan as well as potentially into far southern Ontario, Canada later today into tomorrow morning. No additional migration risks are in the forecast the rest of this week into next weekend, but growers with crops at susceptible stages to damage should monitor traps and scout fields as some new migrants may have arrived in some fields over the weekend especially in central/northern areas of the corn-growing region.
