Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks remain in the forecast tomorrow night into Thursday morning from far northeast Nebraska into northern Iowa, southern Minnesota, southern and central Wisconsin, and northern Illinois as southerly winds increase ahead of a strong cold front. Processing and fresh market growers in the Low risk area may see additional moth flights during this time. An additional Low risk area is also predicted Thursday night into Friday from eastern Iowa and Wisconsin east into northern Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, much of lower Michigan, and also into southern Ontario, Canada as the cold front moves southeast. Southerly wind speeds look to increase during this time period, but given the late point in the season, only Low risks are justified at this time. No additional migration risks are predicted into the weekend as northwest flow returns to much of the corn-growing region.
