Alert Details

Corn rootworm beetle population risks are in the Moderate category across a large portion of the corn-growing region for the next week. Fields from eastern Colorado into northern Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, central and northern Illinois, Wisconsin, northern Indiana, northwest Ohio, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada are all at risk of seeing scattered issues with beetle populations especially on later-planted crops. Growers are encouraged to continue scouting efforts even if fields are past critical growth stages as determining where beetle populations are present may be important for planning next year’s planting rotation.
