Corn rootworms will continue to cause scattered problems all across the corn-growing area in the next week. Fields from northeast Colorado into northern and central Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and southwest Ontario, Canada are all at risk. Beetle emergence and potential damage to silks and ears will continue to be the greatest threat. Growers are urged to monitor their own fields closely and take action based on what is occurring locally as damage has been reported on a scattered basis.
