Alert Details

Corn rootworm risks continue across much of the corn-growing region in the next week. Fields from eastern Colorado into Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, central and northern Illinois, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, northern Indiana, northern Ohio, and southern Ontario, Canada are all at risk of seeing continued beetle pressure. Scattered reports of continued beetle emergence and pressure are coming in from across the corn-growing region with some fields over economic threshold. Growers are advised to continue monitoring beetle counts as well as assessing root damage all across the risk area. If root damage and/or beetle pressure is rather high, growers are encouraged to consider reevaluating their planting decisions for the 2015 growing season.
