Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch will continue across much of the corn-growing region this week and weekend, with beetle emergence also expected to increase especially across portions of southwest into central and east-central Illinois as well as potentially into portions of western/central Indiana, Kansas, and eastern Colorado. Corn rootworm hatches will be possible in virtually all of the corn-growing region from the central Plains northward into the Dakotas and east into the upper Midwest and Great Lakes region as well. Growers should dig up roots, both in corn and soybean fields, and assess larvae populations and also take note of any root damage as problems this year may affect growing decisions for next year.
