Alert Details

Corn rootworm risks will continue for the next week across much of the corn-growing region as beetle emergence and activity will exist across a large area. Growers from eastern Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, central and northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and southern Ontario, Canada are all at risk. Some areas already have active beetle populations while others, especially across the northern portion of the risk area, are continuing to see beetle emergence so it is important to scout fields and monitor beetle populations within those fields to determine if any treatment is necessary and/or to plan ahead for next season where beetle counts are rather high.
