Alert Details

Corn rootworm beetles will continue to pose a threat especially to later-planted corn fields in the next week, but all growers should continue to monitor beetle counts across much of the corn-growing region for the next week or so as populations may affect planting decisions for next growing season. Silk clipping is expected to pose the greatest threat especially across the upper Midwest and into the Great Lakes region in the next week. High risks remain in fields from northeast Colorado into the northwest third to half of Kansas, Nebraska, northern Missouri, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, northern and central Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, and central/southern lower Michigan as well as southern Ontario, Canada in the week ahead.
