Alert Details

Corn rootworm beetle counts will continue to cause scattered problems across much of the corn-growing region in the next week although the overall threat will begin to subside in the next few weeks as the crop advances past critical growth stages. Some areas are reporting less pressure than typically seen while other areas are seeing more pressure and threshold values being exceeded where treatment is necessary, so it is important to scout your own fields and determine population dynamics and either the need to treat now or plan ahead to 2018. Fields from Kansas north into Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, lower Michigan, and southern Ontario, Canada are all at risk of seeing at least scattered corn rootworm beetle problems in the next week.
