Alert Details

High and Moderate corn rootworm hatch risks envelop virtually all of the corn-growing region now from eastern Colorado through Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Beetle emergence may begin in some areas especially south of I-80 and with some corn now entering the silking/tassel growth stage, growers should continue regular scouting and look for beetle populations and potential silk clipping over the next few weeks to month. Silk clipping threats will expand north through time as heat units continue to accumulate and the crop becomes more advanced in growth further north, as well.
