Alert Details

Soybean aphid egg hatch will remain possible in the next week mainly along and north of I-90 in the eastern Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Sub-freezing temperatures, including readings at or below a hard freeze level, especially in the Plains states and in portions of Minnesota and Wisconsin in the last week may have resulted in some recently-hatched soybean aphids being killed. Populations in these areas may need to rely more on favorable summer weather for quick regeneration than initial spring hatch populations to cause problems in soybean. As the week progresses, the primary remaining hatch risk is expected to focus along and north of I-94 from North Dakota into Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, central lower Michigan and Ontario, Canada.
