Alert Details

Soybean aphid egg hatch will continue especially across the far northern portion of the soybean-growing region from eastern North Dakota into northeast South Dakota, Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, and also southeast/east into central lower Michigan and southern Ontario, Canada. Egg hatch further south, especially along/south of I-90, has likely concluded now so any remaining new hatches should be focused north of the I-94 corridor especially in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota as well as portions of northern/central lower Michigan and into southern Ontario, Canada. Growers should be advised that there is no threat to soybeans at this point in the year, the risk is simply to provide an awareness that soybean aphids are becoming active this growing season and population dynamics and weather should be monitored to determine potential populations later this summer.
