Alert Details

With soybeans entering reproductive stages across especially the northern reaches of the soybean-growing area where soybean aphids overwinter, a Low risk of soybean aphid development has been introduced to the forecast by the end of the week into next weekend especially across far northeast Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, far southeast North Dakota, Minnesota, northern Iowa, and into Wisconsin. Thus far, most reports indicate very low to no soybean aphid populations, but this can rapidly change as we move further into reproductive stages and also, and more importantly, if the weather allows favorable conditions. Growers with soybeans near or in reproductive growth stages should begin regularly scouting susceptible fields and evaluate soybean aphid populations and dynamics until the threat window has passed.
