Alert Details

Little to no soybean aphid migration or development risk is predicted in the next five days. Growers located in the northern reaches of the soybean area, especially north of I-80, should prepare to scout fields especially once soybeans reach reproductive growth stages. So far, soybean aphid counts in fields especially across much of Minnesota and Wisconsin are very low to none, but populations can increase rapidly given favorable weather and healthy host plants. Given late planting in many areas this year, soybean aphids could become a more widespread problem especially if August weather is near or even cooler than average across the northern soybean growing region.
