Alert Details

Low soybean aphid development risks have been introduced to the forecast this week as a higher percentage of soybeans are now entering the reproductive growth stages across the northern soybean-growing region. Additionally, the risk introduction is to provide an awareness that soybean aphid problems may occur much earlier this year than last, and early scouting may benefit growers especially from eastern South Dakota into northern Iowa, Minnesota, and western Wisconsin where soybean aphid counts and problems have historically been the highest. Growers are encouraged to scout especially those fields that are blooming and entering into the early reproductive stages of growth to determine early reproductive stage soybean aphid populations.
