Alert Details

Soybean aphid development and population risks have been increased into the Moderate category across portions of central/southern Minnesota, far eastern South Dakota, extreme northern Iowa, and far western Wisconsin as a combination of favorable growth stages and a more moderate weather forecast may lead to new or continued population increases within or near the Moderate risk area. Growers with soybeans in the R1-R5 growth stages should be regularly scouting fields in this area and taking note of population changes over time. Any treatment decisions should be based on field-level scouting and not necessarily what the local area as a whole is reporting as field populations can and will vary over short distances. Lower risks for more isolated potential issues are found from the central Dakotas southeast into northeast Nebraska, northern Iowa, and further east into Wisconsin as well as north into northwest Minnesota and southeast North Dakota.
