Western bean cutworm emergence is expected to continue across portions of the Plains and Great Lakes regions in the next five days. More specifically, fields in northern Kansas, southern Nebraska, eastern and central Wisconsin, lower Michigan, northeast Indiana, northwest Ohio, and southern sections of Ontario, Canada are likely to see continued increases in moth captures as initial emergence continues. Moth counts are not particularly high and are still scattered, and crops are not at susceptible stages to damage as of yet so risks are kept low through the period.
