Western bean cutworm peak flight is ongoing across a good portion of the corn-growing region. High risks extend from eastern Nebraska into Iowa, southern Minnesota, northwest Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, far northeast Indiana, northern Ohio, and southwest Ontario, Canada and should also spread further northeast into additional fields in Ontario, Canada and Pennsylvania in the next week. Moderate risks are in place from Nebraska and South Dakota eastward mainly to the north of I-80 into Ontario, Canada and should also expand east northeast into Ontario, Canada and additional fields in Pennsylvania and New York in the next week. Peak flight has likely already occurred in portions of the Plains and southwest Midwest so risks are being reduced or even eliminated in many areas especially across Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
