Western bean cutworms continue to remain prevalent especially in Ontario and Quebec, Canada and along the southern shores of Lake Erie and Ontario in the United States. High risks remain in the forecast for the next five days across these regions (Ontario/Quebec, Canada and northeast Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, and northwest/northern New York). Moderate risks surround the High risk area from southeast Michigan and northern Ohio to the northeast. Growers especially in Ontario and Quebec, Canada and from northeast Ohio into New York are urged to monitor their fields for western bean cutworm activity in the coming weeks and take appropriate action, if needed.
