Western bean cutworm emergence is predicted to continue the next five days across an increasingly larger portion of the corn-growing region. High risks continue across portions of Nebraska and Kansas where peak flight continues, and Moderate risks surround the High risk area across the balance of Nebraska and also eventually into western Iowa and northwest Missouri by late this week as trap counts are expected to increase across this region as well. Additional Moderate risk areas are in place across Wisconsin and also southern Michigan into northern Indiana and northwest Ohio where sandier soils in combination with crops at susceptible stages to damage continue to provide a heightened risk.
