The annual western bean cutworm peak flight is winding down across much of the corn-growing region. As a result, risk levels and coverage is also on the decrease. Moderate risks do remain in place through the holiday weekend especially across far northeast lower Michigan and also into southern Ontario and southwest Quebec, Canada where some traps are likely still catching moths and also where there may be some fields at susceptible stages to damage. Low risks remain from lower Michigan into far northern Ohio and along the southern shores of the Great Lakes region into Pennsylvania and New York as well. Otherwise, the flight has subsided across much of the corn-growing region for this growing season.
