The annual western bean cutworm flight has subsided in most areas but some lingering isolated to scattered pressure may still be lingering especially along the eastern Great Lakes from eastern lower Michigan east into southern Ontario and southwest Quebec, Canada. Moderate risks are in place across much of this region for the next several days with risks later this weekend and into early next week focused primarily in southern Canada. Isolated problems may continue on the southern shores of Lake Erie and Ontario in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York into next week as well. Growers in these areas, especially with crops at a susceptible stage to damage, should continue to monitor their fields and take appropriate action, if needed, until the crop advances past critical stages of development.
