Alert Details

Moderate western bean cutworm risks are in place across southwest and southern Nebraska as well as far northern Kansas, and also into northern Indiana as the annual flight intensifies and coincides with additional silking corn acres as the crop continues to mature. Low risks cover a large stretch of the corn-growing region from northeast Colorado and Nebraska all the way east into lower Michigan, northern Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania, and upstate New York as well as southern Ontario, Canada. Growers with silking corn in the risk areas should monitor traps and moth activity closely over the next several weeks as the annual flight continues and potential egg deposition occurs.
