Alert Details

Western bean cutworm emergence continues across the heart of the corn-growing region. Trap counts continue to increase and become more persistent on a scattered basis especially across portions of central and eastern Nebraska, Iowa, and into northern Illinois as these areas progress through critical emergence threshold levels. By early next week, virtually all of the corn-growing region from Nebraska and South Dakota east into lower Michigan and Ohio will be at risk for seeing increased moth activity. Additionally, fields in the upper Midwest (Minnesota and Wisconsin) should also see increases and more persistent trap captures in the next week.
