Alert Details

The annual western bean cutworm peak flight is winding down across much of the corn-growing region. High risks do remain for the next few days across portions of southern Ontario, Canada where crops may still be at the most susceptible stages where damage could occur and also where moth counts may still be active. Moderate risks extend from northeast lower Michigan into Ontario and southwest Quebec, Canada through this week as well with Low risks primarily confined to fields east of Lake Michigan through the next week although a few isolated problem spots may persist in the central sands of Wisconsin for the next few days. Growers with crops at susceptible stages to damage especially in southeast Canada should continue to monitor their crops and take appropriate action, if needed.
