Alert Details

Soybean aphid egg hatch risks will continue to advance north this week and into next weekend as warmer conditions are predicted to return to much of the corn-growing region. Aphids may begin hatching as far north as southeast and eastern North Dakota, northwest and central Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, central and northern portions of the lower peninsula of Michigan, and also into southern Ontario, Canada. Additional egg hatches will remain possible further south to near the I-80 corridor, but most hatches should now focus north of the I-90 corridor from South Dakota into Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ontario, Canada. The egg hatch risk does not suggest there is a risk to crops or fields at this time – it simply provides an awareness that soybean aphids are becoming active this growing season.
