Alert Details

Corn rootworm hatch is predicted to continue in fields further north into the corn-growing region this week, with some hatches potentially seen as far north as northeast South Dakota and southeast North Dakota, central Minnesota, central Wisconsin, and east into central lower Michigan as well as southwest Ontario, Canada. Additional hatches will remain possible further south as well, including portions of Kansas, Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, southern Minnesota, Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, southern Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and southern lower Michigan. Growers that have experienced issues with corn rootworms in recent years should dig up roots in both corn and soybean fields, and take note of larval populations and any potential damage.
