Alert Details

Low black cutworm migration risks continue in the forecast tonight into tomorrow morning as a strong low pressure system moves into the corn-growing region. South to southwest winds may result in some isolated black cutworm moth flights especially across eastern Texas but also into portions of southeast Oklahoma, far southwest Arkansas, and extreme northwest Louisiana. Corn planting continues in these areas and some corn has now emerged, so any isolated moth flights may result in some potential damage in the next few weeks once enough heat units have accumulated, especially across eastern Texas. Otherwise, no risk are predicted once a cold front passes through and north winds are found in its wake for the balance of the week and likely into next weekend, as well.
