Black Cutworm
A developing low pressure system and attendant cold front may result in an isolated black cutworm migration risk primarily west of Lake Michigan late this week. Southerly flow to the east of the front should be focused across the Dakotas into Minnesota, northern Iowa, and far northern Nebraska on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. This area is under a Low risk at that time. Additional Low risks continue in the forecast Thursday night into Friday morning as far east as Lake Michigan and generally north of the US 20 corridor as at least weak south to southwest flow continues. Wind flow by this weekend looks to become more focused from the west and generally lighter overall so we are not carrying additional risks into the weekend.
