Black Cutworm
Low black cutworm migration risks are in the forecast tonight into tomorrow morning from eastern Kansas into Missouri, central/southern Illinois, southern Indiana, and western Kentucky as a low pressure system tracks from Kansas east northeast into the southern Great Lakes region by tomorrow. Southerly winds may transport some black cutworm moths into the aforementioned Low risk region during this time, thus the Low risk. A brief break in the risks is found from midday Thursday into Saturday, but Low risks appear once again by Saturday night into Sunday morning ahead of a potentially stronger low pressure system at that time. Low risks are in place from eastern Kansas, Missouri, and Kentucky as far north as Iowa, southern Wisconsin, and southern lower Michigan. Depending on the exact timing and strength of this system, we could potentially see an upgrade to the risk level later in the week once confidence increases.
