Black Cutworm
A fairly strong spring storm system will move through the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. Low pressure is expected to track from the Plains into the Great Lakes during this time, with a trailing cold front to the south. East of the cold front, southerly winds may lead to some isolated black cutworm moth flights especially east of a line from near Springfield, Missouri to Green Bay, Wisconsin. Once the front moves east, however, northwest flow is expected to lock in and stay in place through at least the weekend, so little to no additional risk is in the forecast through Sunday night.
