Black Cutworm
Another storm system is likely to pass through especially the southeast half of the corn-growing region late in the weekend and into early-mid next week. There should be enough of a south to southwest wind fetch out of source regions in the deep south and potentially as far north as the mid-south region to warrant a Low black cutworm migration risk on Sunday night into Monday from eastern Kansas as far east as Indiana and north into Iowa and northern Illinois, as well. As the system and attendant cold front begin to push east and southeast, the main focus next Monday night into Tuesday will be from southeast Missouri and southern Illinois northeast into the southern Great Lakes region. Only modest wind speeds preclude anything higher than a Low risk at this time, however.
