Alert Details

Southwest flow is expected to continue for another day especially across the southeast half of the corn-growing region. A cold front will push southeast by tomorrow and should effectively greatly limit or end any black cutworm migration threat as we head into late week and the weekend. Until then, however, Low migration risks are predicted generally southeast of a line from near Wichita, Kansas to near Chicago, Illinois, as continued southwest to southerly winds and scattered areas of precipitation may lead to some isolated moth flights. Little to no risk is currently predicted after tomorrow, but early next week will be monitored for potential risks.
