Black Cutworm
Black cutworm migration risks return to the forecast especially later Friday into Saturday as a low pressure system moves east across the heart of the corn-growing region. Southerly winds are expected to be present to the east of this low pressure system, so at least some period of potential migration is possible late Friday evening into Saturday morning mainly east of the I-55 corridor from southeast Missouri into central Illinois and points east, and also as far north as central lower Michigan. With northwest flow still being the dominant weather feature, however, across much of the central/eastern United States, any migration during the next week should be pretty isolated.
